Daniel Harris is the founding director of The Equity Exchange and is in his 29th year at John Burroughs School, where he is now director of the Community & Equity Leadership Center. He is a co-creator of The Inclusivity Index tool and currently serves on the advisory council for the School at Columbia University. Previously, he served as a trustee at Community School, contributed to forming the Independent Schools of the Central States (ISACS) Equity committee, and participated in the National Association of Independent Schools advisory think tank, known as Call to Action. Additionally, he has engaged numerous consultations and coaching relationships with schools, organizations and community initiatives.
He is a contributor to the NAIS publication Diversity Work In Independent Schools: The Practice and The Practitioner, a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory®, or IDI®, and offers personal and small group intercultural coaching.
For over a decade, Daniel served as a site director for Aim High St. Louis, a tuition-free personal and academic enrichment program for motivated middle school students, most of whom come from challenging circumstances or environments. He has facilitated and hosted several programs and workshops for educators and community members throughout the St. Louis region and nation, including "Understanding Prejudice and Race" and "Building Partnerships to Overcome Racism" through Rita Starr's Healing Our Nation network.

In his career at Burroughs, he has been honored as a Missouri Track Coach of the Year 5 times by the MTCCCA, 1 time each by the USTFCCCA, MOCA and NFHS who also honored him as 2018 Midsection Coach of the Year (Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota). He has led over 285 individual/relay qualifiers to the state track & field championships across all 19 of the offered events, with 35 individual event champions and 14 relay champions. Under his leadership the program has produce 4 team state championships, 8 other state finishes in the top four, 14 district championships, and numerous meet and invitational titles.
